Lucky Saint has been around since 2018 and it’s become the go-to name whenever someone asks about AF lager. Which means it’s also the one with the most to prove.
I used to drink Peroni on a Friday. So when I stopped drinking and people started recommending Lucky Saint, I was sceptical. But it’s actually very good.
How it tastes
There’s genuine malt character here. It’s not sweet in that disappointing way most AF lagers are. The carbonation is right. It finishes clean.
Cold matters more than usual with this one. Serve it at fridge temperature and it’s excellent.
Is it worth the price?
It’s more expensive than Heineken 0.0 — roughly £2 a bottle if you buy a case online. For a Friday evening where you want something that feels like the real thing? It earns it.
